FAQ

In this page you will find some of the most common questions for Newborn Session which are usually asked on a daily basis.

1. When should I contact you to book my newborn session?

We HIGHLY recommend contacting us during your pregnancy. We will have you complete the paperwork, deposit, and  set up a tentative appointment for about a 5-10 days after your due date. Then, as your date gets closer we’ll keep in touch and see if you are still on course. If you end up delivering early/late we will reschedule your session to accommodate the baby’s actual birth.  Although we make every effort to fit in last minute newborn session requests, our schedule fills quickly and once it is full, it can sometimes be difficult to do so. Once you are on the schedule, you will be given priority for session scheduling when your baby arrives and we will make sure to do your session within the first 2 weeks of life.  If your baby is already born, please do feel free to call and inquire about a session as we do try to fit in every newborn inquiry whenever possible.

2. Do I need to bring my own props & accessories to our session?

You’re more than welcome to bring your own props. However, I have over a dozen different blankets, baskets, TONS of headbands and hats. If you have an idea for a specific color combination you’d like to have in your session, Let me know during your consultation and I’ll try to have it ready just for your session when you come in!

3. Do I have to be in the photos? I don’t think I want to be photographed 10 days after having my baby.

You don’t have to… But I strongly recommend it. I always tell my clients that when you look at your childhood photos with your mom, you don’t really care what she looks like (double chin or not. it’s pretty awesome having a photo with your mom holding you when you were just a tiny newborn!).
Also, photographing you with a black shirt over a black background helps a little. And the portraits are usually close-ups.

4. How long does the session take?

A typical session lasts about 3 hours, that way we have enough time to get them in that very deep sleep, pose them, and photograph many set-up’s. There is a comfy sofa, refreshment and WI-FI in my studio so you can relax a little bit.

5. How do I prepare for my newborn photography session?

I have taken lots of time to put together a guidelines and ways you can help your newborn session go as smooth as possible. You will receive this document just before your session.

6. What happen after the session?

Before you leave my studio, we will set up a time for you to come back to see your baby’s pictures. It takes about 3-5 business days for me to edit all the images.
